Registration for ISACA’s CISA and CISM Exams Sets New High
December 2006 Exam
Registration for the 9 December 2006 CISA and CISM exams has now closed.
Changes to registration information, such as exam site or language, are free of charge until
12 October. A US $50 fee is required for all exam registration changes received between 13 and
27 October 2006. No changes will be accepted after 27 October 2006.
To ensure the timely receipt of their admission ticket and exam results, candidates must
report any changes in registration information to the certification department immediately.
Remember the CISM exam in December 2006 will be the last one using the current CISM job practice areas and
candidates should use the 2006 CISM study materials (not those that will soon be available for the 2007 exam).
In May, a notice was posted regarding a web site (www.cisaca.org) originating out
of China fraudulently claiming to be authorized by ISACA to register candidates for the CISA
exam and to collect exam fees through its site. At that time, the site was inactivated; however, it
has recently been reactivated. ISACA has also been informed that www.cisaca.com is a related
site with similar claims.
Please be advised that neither of these web sites nor their owners are affiliated in any way with or
endorsed by ISACA—nor have these web sites or their owners been authorized as registrars for
the CISA exam or as distributors of any CISA study materials.
If there are any similar situations occurring in your geographic area, please contact the certification
department at International Headquarters immediately. Individuals who have
been adversely impacted by these web sites should contact International Headquarters’ certification
department (certification@isaca.org) so that their name, who the payment was made to, the amount paid, the
exam they had registered for, and the web site where they had registered for the exam can be
documented.
Online registration for the CISA and CISM exams can be completed only through the
ISACA web site (www.isaca.org/examreg) or via fax/mail to ISACA International Headquarters.

Fraudulent Web Site Alert
A web site (www.cisaca.org) originating in China and owned by the CISA Chinese
Alliance is claiming to be authorized by ISACA to register candidates for the
CISA exam and collect exam fees through its site. This same site also claims to
sell a Chinese version of the CISA Review Manual and the CISA Review
Questions, Answers & Explanations Manual.
Please be advised that neither this web site not its owner is affiliated in any
way with or endorsed by ISACA. Not has the web site of its owner been authorized
as a registrar for the CISA exam or as a distributor of any CISA study materials.
Members should only register for the CISA or CISM exam through the ISACA web site.
International Headquarters has contacted this organization to advise it to cease
and desist these infringements of ISACA intellectual property and fraudulent
activities. If you are aware of any individuals who have been adversely impacted

department immediately (certification@isaca.org).

fees to the next exam date (December 2006). Those requests received on or before
1 May 2006 will be charged a US $50 processing fee. From 2 May through 2 June 2006, a
processing fee of US $100 will be charged. Deferral requests will not be accepted
after 2 June 2006.
For the convenience of ISACA members, a deferral can now be requested online at
www.isaca.org/examdefer. Should you have additional questions concerning
cancellations or deferrals, please contact the certification
department at certification@isaca.org or +1.847.253.1545, ext. 403, 471 or 474.
CISA and CISM Continue to Gain Worldwide Recognition
The list of recognitions and rewards for the CISA and CISM certifications
continues to grow. For example, The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of
India has recognized the CISA designation as an integral facet of its system
auditing guidelines.
Has a major enterprise or governmental agency in your state, province or
country adopted a similar requirement? ISACA would like to hear from you.
Please send an e-mail detailing recognition of the CISA and/or CISM credential in
your country, province or state to lcongdon@isaca.org.
CISA and CISM Exam Highlights
The results of the first December exam administration will be released in early February 2006.
Please remind candidates that they will receive e-mail results only if they answered “yes” to
#27 on the registration form.
Thousands of CISAs were certified in 2005, and a large number are expected to apply
after the December passers are notified. For those who passed the exam in 2001, the deadline to
apply for certification is 31 December 2006. Reminders will be sent to those individuals.
Due to unprecedented demand for the June 2005 examinations, ISACA
added a second annual administration for the CISA and CISM certifications,
held 10 December. Registration for the inaugural December 2005 CISA
exam surpassed 13,000, despite being offered in limited locations and
languages. When added to the June exam total, more than 31,000 exam
candidates registered for the CISA exam in 2005. This figure is more than
double the number of candidates who registered in 2004.
Record registration was also experienced for the CISM exam, with nearly
3,000 professionals registered for the 2005 exams.
The next CISA and CISM exams will take place worldwide on 10 June
2006. Additional information is available at www.isaca.org/certification.
