2005 CISA and CISM Exam Highlights
The December exam administration closed with more than 13,500 CISA and 1,300 CISM registrants. For those taking
the CISA exam, this is the last exam that will use the current CISA job practice areas and the 2005 CISA study
materials. Please visit www.isaca.org/cisacontentareas for detailed information.
The study materials for the June 2006 CISA exam are now available. Chapters with the resources to provide
preparation training are encouraged to do so and should use the materials already provided by ISACA.
Registration for the June 2006 CISA and CISM exams began the week of 24 October. To view additional details

Since the June 2005 exam results were released at the end of July, thousands of new CISAs have been certified.
Please remind exam passers that they have five years to apply for certification. For those who passed the
exam in 2000, the deadline to apply for certification is 31 December 2005. Those who passed the exam in
2001 will receive reminders of their 31 December 2006 deadline.
Overwhelming Response to Second Exam Administration
The next CISA and CISM exam administration on 10 December 2005 has received an overwhelming response.
The December CISA exam will be the last using the current CISA job practice areas.

if you are preparing for this exam.

Second Exam Added to Meet High Demand
Due to unprecedented registration numbers for the June 2005 exams, Information
Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA®) will offer the Certified Information
Systems Auditor™ (CISA®) and Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM®)
exams twice a year. The second exam date in 2005 is scheduled for Saturday, 10 December.
More than 19,000 professionals registered for the June 2005 CISA exam, a 40
percent increase from 2004 and a record high for the 12th straight year. CISM
exam registration topped 1,600, a 125 percent increase from 2004. Much of the
increased demand can be attributed to the exceptional efforts of ISACA chapters,
which have been promoting the exams and offering review courses to prepare
candidates for the tests. Exam locations and languages for the December
administration will be limited and have been determined based upon demand for
the June administration.
