Michael Legary, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CSSA, GCIH
Michael is a Principal of Seccuris Inc, where he helps address business risks associated with Intellectual Property, Technology and compliance in large North American organizations. He specializes in risk assessments, incident handling and forensic investigations for high risk enterprise.

As lead instructor for the University of Winnipeg's Information Security Assurance Program, Michael has developed an internationally recognized assurance programs including Canada's first digital forensics and eight step incident handling programs.

Michael's core passion lays in development of cutting edge security initiatives. Through Seccuris Labs Michael focuses include research in security information management architectures, trusted operating system design as well as code audit and forensic methodologies.

SESSION DESCRIPTION (1 CPE Credit)
Identity Theft has become a common occurrence in Canada, impacting hundreds of Manitobans each day. The internet, hackers & a lack of corporate concern seems to be major factors in the problem we face today but do we really know why? Michael will walk the audience through the largest factors that lead to identify theft today, the impacts that Canadians are facing and the hype that continues to skew the true issue. Key solutions that are available for individuals will be discussed as well as an overview of the controls available to organizations to help protect their client information from theft.
