Ron Saull, MBA, CSP
Ronald Saull is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer of the global Information Services Organization serving Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life, Investors Group and selected services for Mackenzie Financial and Investment Planning Counsel, all members of the Power Financial Group of Companies. For these companies, Mr. Saull is responsible for the strategic application of information technology and integration of information services spanning Canada, United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Ireland, Germany and Hong Kong/Macau. He has over 20 years' experience as an information systems professional and manager in both the public and private sectors.
Mr. Saull is currently a trustee on the International Board of Trustees of the IT Governance Institute, an international research think tank dedicated to conducting original research on IT governance and related topics. Mr. Saull is the chair of the ITGI Advisory Panel which taps external experts for input on strategic direction; and he is active on the ITGI Committee which formulates strategy for the evolution of its products and services. In addition, Mr. Saull is currently an active member of the COBIT ® Steering Committee. In the past, he was Vice President of the ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) International Board of Directors and chairman of ISACA's Research Board.
In 1999 he was appointed to the COBIT ® (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) Steering Committee. This Committee is charged with the continuing development of COBIT ®, an emerging global best practice for governance and control of the IT function. He has published an article on the IT Balanced Scorecard in the Information Systems Control Journal and presented on this topic at ISACA conferences worldwide.
