ISACA EXAM IDENTIFICATION POLICY
Each candidate taking the CISA/CISM exam must submit and will only be admitted to the test center if they have a valid admission ticket and an acceptable form of identification (ID). An acceptable form of ID must be a current and original government issued identification that contains the candidate's name as it appears on the admission ticket, and the candidate's photograph. All of these characteristics must be demonstrated by this single piece of ID provided. Examples include, but are not limited to a passport, driver's license, military ID, state ID, greencard and national ID. Any candidate who does not provide an acceptable form of identification will not be allowed to sit for the exam and will forfeit his/her registration fee.
The basic requirements for the CISA designation are to have 5 years experience in the Information Systems Audit & Control field and pass the CISA exam. The exam is given in Winnipeg twice each year in June and December It is not necessary to have completed the experience requirements before taking the exam. More than 50,000 professionals have earned the CISA since inception, so clearly many people agree: earning the CISA is a good career move. This past December 9 candidates wrote at the Winnipeg Exam Centre at the U of M, while over 14,000 sat for the exam globally, writing it in about 10 different languages. There are no specific courses you must take in order to obtain the designation. For more detailed information on the CISA certification go here

You do not have to be an ISACA member to write either exam; however, there are significant financial advantages to being an ISACA member. Things such as: conferences, seminars, educational training in the Information Systems Audit & Control and the Information Security Management fields are provided (locally and globally) to members at reduced cost, as is the examination fee. The chapter also provides financial assistance toward study material costs and will attempt to provide a CISA review course in May and December.
Being a member provides a networking group, which can provide support for your efforts. ISACA Membership will also provide access to the member only areas of the ISACA International and ISACA Winnipeg Chapter websites, a significant resource for both study and work.
